EcoPlot Privacy Policy

EcoPlot (“the App”), operated by PLANT Group LLC (“we,” “us”), helps people make
ecological conservation and restoration decisions. This policy explains what we collect,
why, and your choices.
Information we collect
- Account info — your email address and name, via our login provider
(Auth0; including Sign in with Apple or Google if you choose them).
- Location — the boundaries you draw and the GPS coordinates attached
to your field photos, audio recordings, and species observations.
- Photos & audio — images and recordings you capture or upload to
document your land and field observations.
- Usage data — basic app activity used to operate features like points
and AI usage metering.
- Payment data — donations are processed by Stripe; we receive a
confirmation and your email, never your full card details.
How we use it
- To provide the App’s features: mapping, satellite/ecological data analysis, AI
recommendations and species identification, the field journal, and gamification.
- To process donations and (if you redeem points) to contact you to schedule a
consultation.
- We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for
third-party advertising or tracking.
Third-party services
We share data only as needed to operate the App with these processors: Supabase
(database, storage, authentication backend), Auth0 (login), OpenAI (AI analysis of the
text, images, and audio you submit), Amazon Web Services (image hosting), Stripe
(donations), and public ecological data APIs (e.g., USDA RAP, US Drought Monitor, NIFC,
GBIF, NREL) which receive only a parcel’s coordinates, not your identity.
Data retention & deletion
Your sites, journal entries, photos, and recordings are kept until you delete them in
the App. You can permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time from
within the App: open the Me tab and tap Delete account.
You may also email us at the address below to request deletion.
Your choices
- You can deny or revoke camera, microphone, and location permissions in iOS Settings.
- You can delete individual photos, recordings, and entries in the App.
- You can request full account and data deletion at any time.
Children
EcoPlot is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data.
